"the river knows is a film directed and conceived by Crystal Sepúlveda. The work mediates on the relationship between women, mother/land, healing and water.
the river knows is currently being presented as a two-channel video installation with live performance and soundscape created by Crystal Sepúlveda. It was presented at Human Resources LA as part of (de) Color-Es, an event organized Primera Generacion Dance Collective, at Californa State University San Marcos in the Visual and Performing Arts Department and at Mount San Jacinto College for the Studio Concert Series in the Department of Dance.
The work is also realized as a site-specific performance at the Santa Ana River, the stretch that runs through Riverside, CA. Sepúlveda was an Artist in Residence at Riverside Art Museum this Fall 2016 and was invited to share her work in There is a River Here.
